Sleeve (Concrete)Anchors
 |
 |
Sleeve anchors are dependable for use in brick, cinder block, thin wall,
marble, and concrete. One benefit is that the base material doesn't have
to be solid. Like the wedge anchor, the sleeve anchor's diameter and the
hole size are the same, simplifying installation. The variety of head
styles offers extra versatility, and this pre-assembled anchor is
extremely fast and easy to use. An added benefit is the ability to remove
this anchor after installation. Sleeve anchors are used for anchoring
window and door frames, thresholds, cabinets, theater seats, duct straps,
dock bumpers, aluminum and steel angles, steel columns, etc.

1. Always wear safety
glasses.
2. Follow the drill manufacturer's safety instructions.
3. Use only solid carbide-tipped bits meeting the ANSI B94-12 tip
diameter.
4. Drill the hole perpendicular to the work surface. To assure full
holding power, do not ream the hole or allow the drill to wobble.
5. Drill the hole as deep as the full length of the anchor.
6. Clean the hole using compressed air and a wire brush. A clean hole is
necessary for proper performance.

|
7. Place anchor through fixture (must be 1/8" larger than diameter
of the anchor) and into hole making sure the nut and washer rest solidly
against the fixture, or tap into the hole and then place bracket over
the anchor (under nut and washer).
8. Tighten the nut with a torque wrench to the proper torque shown in
the table below.
